According to Blue Earth City Administrator Mary Kennedy, in 2017 the Blue Earth City Council agreed to incentivize Part Time Liquor Store employees to fill Sunday shifts by paying $2 per hours more. After 2019, the differential pay was mistakenly not included in payroll.
The reason for the mistake was not immediately identified, but the consensus was that the oversight occurred during administration turnover.
At their Council Meeting on Tuesday night, the City Council agreed to correct the error and distribute $299 to 6 people, both current and former employees, for Sunday hours worked between January 1st, 2020, and February 1st, 2021.
