The Blue Earth City Council met Tuesday night for a work session and regular meeting.
Police Chief Tom Fletcher was present at the meeting for the final reading and approval of the department’s body worn camera policy.
Chief Fletcher says the cameras have been ordered and should arrive at the end of March, with the camera database management software vendor scheduled to be onsite for training in May. Fletcher demonstrated where and how the cameras will be worn and says this is a “big step forward technologically” for the department.
The board thanked Chief Fletcher for his initiative and dedication to the project.
