The Faribault County Commissioners met Tuesday for their final meeting of 2021. On the agenda was the annual Truth in Taxation hearing, for which 1 person was present. That property owner resides in Washington State and joined the meeting via Zoom. As Commissioner Groskreutz points out, one positive impact of the pandemic is the necessity of incorporating new ways for people to participate in meetings.
Unfortunately, one of the many negative impacts of COVID is the stress placed on teachers, which has resulted in many educators leaving their positions. Groskreutz says that was the case for the county’s Head Start Director Christine Marben.
Faribault County Head Start serves all 9 counties in the region and Marben has been with the agency for 25 years.
