Rural Good Thunder Man Released from the Hospital Following Hammer Attack

An elderly Good Thunder man has been released from the hospital, a few days after he was attacked with a hammer by an acquaintance outside his rural home.

Arnie Lillo, 83, was struck in the head last Thursday and was hospitalized with a skull fracture and bleeding on his brain according to court documents.

Lillo was released from the hospital on Saturday.

Brandon McMurtrey, 34, of Evan, Minnesota, was arrested by law enforcement authorities for carrying out the attack.  He was charged with felony counts of assault and robbery on Monday in Blue Earth County District Court.

McMurtrey remains hospitalized after crashing his vehicle while attempting to elude police.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Lillo with medical and living expenses until he is able to return to work.
