Wells City Council Approves Conditional Use Permit for Jake’s Pizza

At Monday’s meeting, the Wells City Council approved a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission allowing for the issuance of a conditional use permit on behalf of Dawn Navara, owner of Jake’s Pizza.  The issue was initially brought before the Council for consideration earlier this month, but the Council tabled action on the matter at that time in order to allow the City attorney to further review the application.

The Council also adopted a resolution ordering the abatement of a hazardous building located in the community.  It was further noted that a 90 day time frame has been established for starting work on the building.

A monetary donation was accepted by the Council for the new scoreboard at Thompson Park.

The Council also accepted a monetary donation on behalf of the Wells Fire Department.

The Council also approved a resolution on behalf of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority for the recommended purchase of tax forfeited parcels in the community.
