One Person Suffers Minor Injuries When a Pickup Truck Struck an Anhydrous Applicator

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident Saturday Afternoon involving a pickup truck and a farm tractor pulling an anhydrous ammonia applicator.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 4:45pm on County Road 16, near 415th Ave., east of Blue Earth.

The Sheriff’s Office says Ricky Wright, 49, of Winnebago, was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup westbound on County Road 16, when he struck an anhydrous ammonia applicator that was being pulled by a farm tractor.  The farm tractor was driven by Kohl Jacobsen, 19, of rural Winnebago.

Wright sustained minor cuts to his hands and wrist from the accident, according to Sheriff’s deputies.  Jacobsen was not injured.

The pickup truck driven by Wright was towed from the scene due to sever damage.  The anhydrous ammonia applicator being pulled by Jacobsen sustained heavy damage from the accident.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Blue Earth Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR, Blue Earth Fire Department and Blue Earth Ambulance.
