Organizers involved with this year’s annual Food Scavenger Hunt, held Wednesday evening in Blue Earth, say that the event was an overwhelming success.
Approximately 100 area youth went out into the Blue Earth Community from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, to gather non-perishable food items for the Faribault County Food Pantry.
Youth from Saints Peter and Paul, St. Mary’s and Trinity Lutheran Churches all joined together to help benefit area residents in need.
At the end of the evening, a total of 1,908 non-perishable food items were collected to help stock the shelves at the Faribault County Food Pantry.
Monetary donations totaling $733 were also received to help benefit individuals in need.
Local organizers says this year’s food collection was the best they’ve had in a number of years.
