Minnesota Congressman Jim Hagedorn, a Republican from Blue Earth, held a telephone Veteran Town Hall event with a Veteran Service Officer from Olmsted County on Tuesday.
More than a dozen callers from Southern Minnesota called into the event, with questions about veteran affairs.
According to Ashley Laganiere, a Veteran Service Officer for the Olmstead County Veteran Service Organization, there is roughly a nine month waiting period for specialty medical service.
Laganiere said she recommends veterans reach out to their community Veteran Service Officer to speed up the process.
Hagedorn said he is pushing policy to make healthcare, regardless of the provider, free for all veterans.
Hagedorn said veterans with concerns can call his Mankato or Rochester office.
