Kiester Man Pleads Guilty in Winnebago County, Iowa

A Kiester man has been sentenced on drug and weapon possession charges in Winnebago County, Iowa.

Michael Molina of Kiester pleaded guilty to possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance, marijuana, a serious misdemeanor and carrying weapons, a serious misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Lake Mills Police Department on July 4, 2021.

For the drug possession charge, Molina was sentenced to serve two days in the Winnebago County Jail and ordered to pay surcharge and court costs.

For the weapons charge, Molina was sentence to serve two days in the Winnebago County Jail and ordered to pay a $430 fine, along with surcharge and court costs.

The jail sentences were ordered to run concurrently.  Molina was further ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with any recommended treatment.
