Fairmont Schools Add Second Ag Teacher to Accommodate Interest in Ag Classes

Fairmont High School has added a second ag teacher this year to accommodate the growing number of students interested in agriculture.

Cassandra Brown was recently hired to serve as a second ag teacher for the school’s ag program.  Brown will serve as an additional FFA Advisor.

Brown is originally from Auburn, Iowa where she grew up on a swine and row crop farm.

She attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in agricultural education and life sciences in 2009.

Brown will teach 8th grade students and some high school classes while Fairmont’s other ag teacher, Katie Elder, will teach 7th grade, as well as a few high school classes.  Both Brown and Elder will serve as FFA Advisors for the Fairmont Area School District.
