According to Community Health and Human Services of Faribault and Martin Counties, local COVID-19 cases are on the rise again.
Tim Langer, Public Health Sanitarian, says the increase is due solely to the delta variant.
Langer noted that the delta variant is a lot more transmissible than the native variant, so local public health officials have definite concerns with that.
The Public Health Department has been striving to get people vaccinated, as a safe and effective way of preventing the illness, Langer added.
Langer went on to note that he believes booster shots are equally important for those who have already been vaccinated.
