Detailed plans are now beginning to take shape for a proposed Community Center for the City of Fairmont.
Mayo Clinic Health System – Fairmont and two local families have pledged a combined $4.5 million toward construction and operation of the Community Center.
The City of Fairmont has also committed $14 million in local sales tax revenues for building construction.
The new facility would include a YMCA and an Ice Arena, with special program offerings being made available to both youth and adults.
Donors says they’re certain the facilities will improve the overall quality of life for Fairmont Area residents, as well as individuals from the surrounding areas.
