Lake Mills Man, Who Injured 6 People in a 2019 Car Crash, Has His Sentence Cut Short

A Winnebago County man involved in a car crash more than two years ago, which seriously injured six people, has had his prison sentence cut short.

Twenty two year old Michael Olsen, of Lake Mills, was sentenced to five years behind bars on May 25th after pleading guilty to three counts of serious injury by vehicle.

Court documents reveal Olson crashed his pickup truck into a car on January 1st, 2019 near Forest City.  The collision seriously injured Maya Barrientes, Taylor Pattison, Alex Fritzk, Kayla Kittleson, Carter Hammervold and Cole Millsap.

As part of Olsen’s plea deal, his five year sentence would be reconsidered by the Judge after 90 days.  A Judge on Tuesday did reconsider and suspend Olsen’s prison term, ordering him instead to serve five years on supervised probation.
