Albert Lea Man Pleads Guilty to Burglary Charge

A Freeborn County man will serve time in prison for stealing from a vacant home.

Thirty one year old Keng Hang of Albert Lea recently pled guilty to a charge of third degree burglary.  Hang was sentenced to two years behind bars, with credit being given for 430 days already served.

Hang was arrested in June of 2020 and charged with second degree burglary and third degree possession of methamphetamine.  He was accused of illegally entering a vacant home in Albert Lea at that time and stealing many personal items including checkbooks, clothing and jewelry.

Albert Lea Police say the burglary was discovered when luggage was found at a local motel containing the stolen property.  Hang was identified as the person seen with the luggage, which was also found to contain 10.7 grams of meth.
