Iowa DNR Officials Report Emerald Ash Borer in Winnebago County

Officials in Winnebago County say the Emerald Ash Borer has now officially been detected in the County for the first time.

 

The potentially harmful tree insect was recently detected in the Forest City area, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

 

In an August 9th news release, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources announced that the Emerald Ash Borer has been found in Calhoun, Winnebago and Worth Counties for the first time.

 

The invasive insect has now been found in 84 of Iowa’s 99 Counties since its first detection in 2010.
