Heading into the fourth weekend of July, AAA reports gas prices in Minnesota and Iowa are lower than they were a week ago.
The average price in Minnesota is $2.99 a gallon, compared to $3.00 a week ago and in Iowa the average price is also $2.99 a gallon, 2 cents lower than last week.
Mississippi had the lowest average price in the nation at $2.78 per gallon.
The national average price per gallon is $3.15.
