Mapleton Man Facing Several Drug and Weapons Charges in Martin County

A Mapleton man is facing felony drug and weapon charges in Martin County.

 

Tyler Caputo, 28, has been charged with an aggravated controlled substance and firearm crime, which carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

 

Caputo is also charged with two counts of drug possession in the first degree and one count of selling drugs in the first degree.  Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

 

Caputo is also charged with a firearm violation, after having previously convicted of a crime of violence, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

 

Caputo was also charged with possession of a firearm with the serial number removed or altered, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

 

Caputo was arrested on June 7th, at a location in Fairmont.  At the time, authorities discovered a 12 Gauge Shotgun, Methamphetamine and a glass pipe, commonly used to smoke meth, in his possession.
