B.E. Council Gets Update on Extra Money for Streets From the State of Minnesota

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Blue Earth City Council received word that the City will be receiving additional monies from the State of Minnesota to help fund needed street improvements within the community.  During the recent legislative session, State Representative Bjorn Olson, of Elmore, played a key role in helping to make additional funding available to smaller cities like Blue Earth.

Blue Earth Area Superintendent Mandy Fletcher, speaking as a local citizen, informed the Council that efforts are being made to organize a special bike ride event within the community on September 11th in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the attack that occurred at the World Trade Center in New York City.

The Council approved the first reading of a proposed development agreement with Ertman Trucking for property located within the Golden Spike Industrial Park, along with a bare land purchase agreement totaling $24,350.

The Council also approved for the City to participate in the MMUA Safety Management Program.
