Winnebago County Board Discusses Need for County Mental Health Advocate

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors discussed the need for having a mental health advocate for the county during their regular meeting Tuesday.

The position was previously held by Ruth Melby while the county was a member of the County Social Services Mental Health Region.

The Board has since changed to the Northwest Care Connections Mental Health Region.

In order for Melby to remain in the position, the Board must sign a 28E agreement with the Regional Group.

The Board decided not to take any action on the matter until the County Attorney has the opportunity to further review the agreement.
