USDA Reports Almost All of MN’s Corn and Soybeans Have Emerged

Minnesota farmers were able to take advantage of 6 days suitable for fieldwork last week.

 

According to the USDA, as of Sunday, 98% of Minnesota’s corn has emerged, 5 days ahead of the 5 year average.  Overall corn condition declined to 58% good to excellent compared to the previous week’s 69%.

 

Soybeans emerged reached 97%, the same as last year and 11 days ahead of average.  Soybean condition declined to 61% good to excellent, compared to the previous week’s 70%.

 

Statewide, topsoil moisture supplies were rated 19% very short, 45% short, 35% adequate and 1% surplus.
