Two Injured in 2 Vehicle Collision Sunday Evening, East of Blue Earth

Faribault County First Responders were summoned to a two vehicle, personal injury accident on Sunday evening at a rural intersection east of Blue Earth.

 

Twenty four year old Lane Anderson, of Delavan, was traveling south on County Road 109 when he collided with a vehicle operated by 52 year old Kevin Steinhauer of Frost, which was traveling east on County Road 16.

 

The impact caused both vehicles to travel into the south ditch along County Road 16, where the Steinhauer vehicle overturned, with the Anderson vehicle coming to rest in an upright position.

 

Both drivers were transported to the United Hospital District in Blue Earth, with Steinhauer later being transferred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester due to injuries suffered in the crash.

 

Investigators say alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.  The accident is still under investigation.

 

The accident was investigated by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, with additional assistance being provided by the Frost Fire Department, Frost Ambulance, Blue Earth  Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
