USDA Reports Almost all of MN’s Corn and Soybeans Have Emerged, Ahead of Last Year and Average

Minnesota farmers were able to take advantage of 6.4 days suitable for fieldwork last week.

 

According to the USDA, as of Sunday, 96% of Minnesota’s corn had emerged, that’s over a week ahead of the 5 year average.  Corn condition was rate 3% poor, 28% fair, 56% good and 13% excellent.

 

Soybeans emerged reached 93%, 4 days ahead of last year and a week ahead of the 5 year average.  Soybean condition was rated 3% poor, 27% fair, 55% good and 15% excellent.

 

Statewide, topsoil moisture supplies were rated 10% very short, 41% short, 48% adequate and 1% surplus.
