Iowa Reports 398 New Coronavirus Cases and 18 Deaths on Friday

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows 18 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and there are 398 new cases of the virus in the state.

 

The number of new positive COVID-19 tests reported for the time period brings the total number of individuals who have tested positive up to 367,240.

 

The data shows there have been 5,980 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of those deaths, 2,323 were residents of long term care facilities.  There are two long term facilities in Iowa reporting outbreaks, New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center in Chickasaw County and Urbandale Health Care Center in Polk County.

 

A vaccine dashboard on the Department of Health website shows 1,144,226 people are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
