Faribault County Has Received 2 Applications for a New County Attorney

Faribault County is continuing its search for a new County Attorney.  The County Board was informed this week that the County has received two applications to fill the position.

The search for the new County Attorney became necessary when Kathyryn Karjala submitted her resignation in April.

The effective date of Karjala’s resignation is July 2nd.  Karjala has offered to help in the transition phase of a new attorney if one is not hired before she is scheduled to leave.

County Engineer Mark Daly also reported to the Commissioners that work will begin this summer on replacing the street name signs in the county.  Daly told the board the county is planning to replace half the signs this year and the remaining half of the county in 2022.  The cost of the materials is $83,000.

Following some discussion, board members also decided to remove the 50 MPH speed zines at Guckeen and Brush Creek.
