B.E. City Council Approves Agreement for Engineering Services and Receives Construction Update

At their meeting Monday night, the Blue Earth City Council approved a professional agreement for engineer services with Bolton and Menk for the Nicollet Street and Walnut Street Reconstruction project planned for this summer.

 

The Council was informed that the final stages of contracts and paperwork are being put together so the contractor can begin work on the projects as soon as the needed supplies and materials are available.

 

In other construction news, the final punch list for the Sailor Street and Leland Parkway projects have been presented to the contractors on the two projects for completion this spring.

 

The City will also be acting as the fiscal agent for a mural painting project.  The mural will be painted on the east side of the Blue Earth American Legion, facing Gazebo Park.  The new mural will be paid for through a grant from the Husiman Foundation.

 

Council Members also held a 35 minute closed session to discuss a personnel recommendation, following the closed session the Council voted 5-2 to terminate an employee working at the City’s Municipal Liquor Store.
