Minnesota health officials reported Wednesday 1,611 new cases of the coronavirus and 13 more deaths.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 7,044 people have died because of the virus. A total of 4,339 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.
A total of 560,450 cases have been confirmed in Minnesota since the pandemic began last year. About 52% of Minnesotans 16 and older have received at least one vaccine dose and 36% are completely vaccinated.
