Iowa Reports 633 New Coronavirus Cases and 6 Deaths on Wednesday as Hospitalizations Trend Upward

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show COVID-19 hospitalizations have been trending upward this week.  Six more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and there were 633 new cases of the virus being reported.

 

The number of new positive COVID-19 tests brings the total number of individuals who have tested positive up to 347,702.

 

The data shows there have been 5,689 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of those deaths, 2,226 were residents of long term care facilities.

 

There are 207 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, an increase of 17 from Wednesday.  On Monday there were 185 hospitalizations in the state.

 

The Iowa Department of Health reports that 511,174 people are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
