City Council Hold 6 Month Evaluation for the City Administrator

Tuesday night, as part of their regular council meeting, the Blue Earth City Council held a closed session for the 6 month evaluation of City Administrator Mary Kennedy.  Following the session, the Council gave Kennedy a score of 7.6 out of a possible score of 10.  The Council evaluated the Administrator on 10 different categories.

 

Council Members also set the stormwater and wastewater rates for usage in 2021.  The increase for one year will be 5%.  Council members also set the sewer service rates for the next 3 years, those rates will increase 5% each year.

 

Fire Chief Roger Davis presented the annual report from the Fire Department for the year 2020.  According to the report, the Fire Department responded to 126 calls last year, with 75 of them happening within the City Limits.

 

The Council also received an update from the group working to reopen the go kart track at the fairgrounds.  The promoters and the city are working on lease agreements for the operation of the track this season.  The group is hoping to have racing at the Golden Spike Speedway on Saturday nights, starting in May of this year.
