The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 59 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 2,058 new cases have been reported.
The number of new positive tests reported for the time period brings the total number of positive cases is up to 293,452.
The data shows there have been 4,124 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far. Of those deaths, 1,677 were residents of long term care facilities.
As of Friday, there are 579 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, a decrease of 34 from the previous day.
