Iowa Reports 601 New Coronavirus Cases and 46 Deaths on Monday

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 46 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 601 new cases have been reported.

 

The number of new positive tests brings the total number of positive tests to 284,866.

 

The data shows there have been 3,992 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of those deaths, 1,139 were residents of long term care facilities.  There are currently outbreaks at 105 long term care facilities in Iowa.

 

As of Monday morning, there are 571 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, down 6 from the previous day.  Of the hospitalized patients, 117 are in intensive care and 55 are on ventilators.
