The Iowa Department of Public Health has reported 84 more COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, the most ever for a one day period since the pandemic began.
The state is reporting another 2,901 Iowans have tested positive for the coronavirus, raising the statewide total of positive cases to 239,693. Of those cases 152,331 are considered recovered from the virus.
The total number of Iowans who’ve died from COVID-19 now stands at 2,603. Of those who have died, 1,096 were residents of long term care facilities.
There are currently 1,000 Iowans hospitalized who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus. There are currently 224 patients currently in the ICU and 128.
