Harvest continues across Minnesota and Iowa, but both states remain behind the normal pace in several areas.
USDA says 6% of Minnesota’s corn has been harvested, compared with the five year average of 8%. In Iowa, corn harvest is 5% complete, half the normal pace of 10%. Minnesota’s corn is 79% mature, while Iowa is at 72%.
Corn conditions remain stronger in Iowa, where 75% of the crop is rated good to excellent. In Minnesota, 60% of the corn crop is rated good to excellent.
Soybean harvest is also running behind. Minnesota is 14% complete, compared with the five year average of 23%. Iowa is just 3% complete, well behind its 17% average.
For soybean conditions, 74% of Iowa crop is rated good to excellent, compared wit 58% in Minnesota.
