Minnesota continues to run ahead of Iowa in several key crop development categories, according to the latest USDA Crop Progress Report.
As of Sunday, 97% of Minnesota corn had reached the dent stage, with 64% mature and 4% harvested. In Iowa, 95% of corn was dented, 56% mature and 4% harvested.
Minnesota soybeans were 78% dropping leaves and 8% harvested. Iowa soybeans were 46% dropping leaves and 2% harvested.
Crop conditions remain mostly favorable. In Minnesota, 60% of corn and 59% of soybeans are rated good to excellent. In Iowa, 76% of corn and 75% of soybeans received good to excellent ratings.
