Construction continues on Phase Two of Blue Earth’s Street Improvement Project.
GM Contracting is making progress with underground work, while crews wait for Phase One subgrade to dry before placing gravel. The next blocks scheduled for gravel are Linton Street, from 10th to 9th Street and 9th Street to Holland to Nicollet.
Starting Monday, September 14th, GM’s underground crew plans to work on 8th Street from Nicollet to Main, and 6th Street from its west dead end to Linton Street.
Residents on those blocks should have vehicles out of their driveways and parked on a side street or in an alley by Monday morning.
Once gravel is placed, Nielsen Blacktopping and Concrete will begin curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway work. Residents will be notified when concrete is safe to drive on, with at least seven days needed for curing.
Another update will be issued when GM determines where construction will reasonably stop for the season.
