The Blue Earth City Council is moving forward with a public hearing on proposed changes to the city’s sign ordinance.
The ordinance would allow larger and taller pylon signs in Highway, Business and Light Industrial, or HLBI, zoning districts.
Under the proposed change, pylon signs could exceed the current limit of 35 feet in height and 100 square feet per side. The new maximum would be 100 feet tall and 400 square feet per side.
The council approved moving forward with a public hearing on the ordinance, which is scheduled for Monday, September 21st.
If approved, the ordinance would take effect 30 days after passage and publication.
