The Minnesota Department of Transportation is inviting the public to tour its newly renovated and expanded Blue Earth Truck Station.
An open house will be held Tuesday, September 22nd, from 3-6pm at 205 Fairgrounds Road in Blue Earth.
The $4.3 million project renovated the exiting facility and added nearly 5,900 square feet to better accommodate snowplows and other equipment. Improvements include new salt and sand storage, a brine generation room, equipment wash bay and upgraded safety and energy efficient systems.
Visitors can tour the facility, see snowplow technology, meet operators and learn about winter driving safety and MnDOT career opportunities.
The Blue Earth Station houses three snowplows and six operators.
