Blue Earth City Officials are moving ahead with several urgent, unbudgeted repairs using unused 2026 revenue or fund balance.
The City Council approved repairs to the Fire Department’s ladder truck, with Fire Safety USA estimating the cost at about $16,200 for a hydraulic leak and other needed work.
The council also approved about $38,800 in urgent roofing repairs at multiple city facilities, based on an assessment by Kato Roofing.
The city is also dealing with leaks at the Municipal Swimming Pool. Repairs include fixing fractured piping and replacing waterline tile, with one portion estimated at about $11,100. An estimate for additional repairs to the pool’s spray features and piping is still pending.
The city expects to have about $800,000 remaining in its general fund at the end of 2026 before these additional repairs are accounted for.
