The Blue Earth City Council discussed priorities for the city’s 2027 budget during a special work session Monday Afternoon.
Among the priorities identified by council members are purchasing equipment and training personnel for mosquito spraying, repairing failing sanitary sewer pumps along the river and maintaining city owned properties and facilities.
Council members also want to complete the street improvement project from First through Fifth Streets and find ways to support local businesses and attract additional businesses to Blue Earth.
Another priority is avoiding cuts to the Public Works budget, while keeping property tax increases as low as possible and maintaining city infrastructure and services.
The priorities will be considered as the city continues developing its 2027 budget.
