Faribault County Remains in Moderate Drought, According to Latest Update from the U.S. Drought Monitor

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor show dry conditions continuing across parts of southeastern Minnesota, while northern Iowa is faring better.

Locally, Faribault County is largely in moderate drought, while Martin County is mainly abnormally dry, with some in moderate drought.

Across the border, Kossuth and Winnebago counties in northern Iowa are largely drought free.

Statewide, conditions have worsened in Minnesota.  Nearly 89% of the state is abnormally dry or in drought, including about 79% in moderate or severe drought.  In Iowa, about 45% of the state is abnormally dry or in drought, with roughly 26% in moderate drought or worse.
