B.E. City Administrator Update the Council on Many Projects and Activities

Blue Earth City Administrator Dawn Collins updated the City Council on Monday on several community activities and upcoming projects.

Collins reported City Hall welcomed 11 students participating in the American Exchange Program, along with four Blue Earth Area students, on July 28^th.  The group learned about local government, city operations and what make Blue Earth unique before touring a police squad car and fire truck.

She also told the council the city pool has developed multiple leaks that will be evaluated over the next couple of weeks.

At the library, summer programming is wrapping up while staff begins planning fall activities.  Collins noted recreational equipment and yard games remain available for checkout.

City departments have begun preparing draft budgets and capital improvement requests for 2027.  Collins said available funding for capital projects is expected to be limited, meaning the council will need to prioritize projects during a special budget work session scheduled for August 31^st.

Collins also reminds residents that Blue Earth will host Town Night at the Mankato Moondogs baseball game on Saturday and invited the public to attend the Community and Senior Picnic at Putnam Park on August 19^th at noon.
