Faribault County FSA Executive Director Nicki Miranowski is reminding Conservation Reserve Program participants that the primary nesting season ends at midnight August 1st, allowing producers to begin mid contract management activities on August 2nd.
Even if mid contract management isn’t required this year but it is one of the three years that a participant can do it, Miranowski encourages participants to get the required work done when the conditions are good as completing the work early can help producers avoid compliance issues if future weather doesn’t cooperate.
She also reminds producers with new CRP contracts to submit all required establishment and clipping paperwork well before the September 20th deadline, as the FSA office is processing about 100 CRP contracts this year and early submissions will help ensure everything stays in compliance.
