Blue Earth Area Schools has received more than $104,000 in grant funding over the past several years, according to Community Engagement and Workforce Coordinator Brenda Millman.
Superintendent Mandy Fletcher told the board Monday night the grants have supported literacy programs, student mental health resources and other initiatives. She also says nearly $62,000 has been donated locally to support the district’s Bucky Bags weekend backpack program.
Fletcher also reported the district is nearly fully staffed for the upcoming school year, with just one elementary position still open.
The board also heard an update on the district’s August 11th referendum, appointed several new teacher hires and reminded residents that filing for school board seats is open through July 28th.
