The Blue Earth Area School Board tackled a packed June agenda Monday night, hearing updates on teacher mentoring programs, recognizing graduating senior and student board representative Alexis Thompson and reviewing the impact of the recently completed legislative session.
Superintendent Mandy Fletcher said the district expects a much smaller reduction in compensatory funding than last year and reported only a handful of staff vacancies heading into the new school year.
The board also discussed budget balancing measures, including a recommendation to reduce district administration from three principals to two following the resignation of High School Principal Conan Schaffer.
Summer maintenance projects, referendum planning and strategic planning updates were also reviewed.
The board approved a balanced budget for the upcoming school year and received spring activities and end of year reports from district administrators.
