The Fairmont County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday morning and approved a roughly $34,000 bid from Coxworth Water Conditioning to replace a water softener system at the Law Enforcement Center. The current system lasted about 15 years, wells beyond its expected lifespan.
The board also approved about $74,000 in concrete repairs and improvements at the courthouse. Work will address the buckling and safety concerns near Door A and the horseshoe walkway, with completion expected by the end of the year. The project also includes removal of a radio tower, which will be sold on MnBid in the near future.
In addition, Building and Ground Director Saxon Warmka received a step increase as he takes on added duties as the County’s Safety and Health Coordinator, bringing years of fire and EMS experience to the role.
