The Blue Earth City Council has approved a proposal from American Engineering Testing, Inc. for construction testing services tied to the Riverside Heights Improvements Project.
The project includes reconstruction of Linden Lane and Elm Boulevard, along with new roadway infrastructure, drainage systems, utility lines, curb and gutter, and new pavement and driveways. Plans also call for installation of a sanitary lift station and trenchless forcemain.
Under the agreement, technicians will perform soil density, aggregate base and concrete strength testing throughout construction to ensure materials meet project specifications.
The services will be based out of the company’s Mankato office, with an estimated cost of just over $39,000, which was under City Engineer Ben Rosol’s preliminary estimate.
Final costs could vary depending on weather, scheduling and site conditions.
