A Blue Earth man was critically injured Monday morning after a collision between a Union Pacific train and a Bobcat skid loader near the railroad tracks just east of Rice Street and East Fifth Street in Blue Earth.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 11:11am the skid loader, operated by 24 year old Ryan Foster, was traveling eastbound and attempting to cross the tracks when it was struck by the southbound train.
Mayo Clinic Air Care 3 was dispatched to transport Foster from United Hospital District in Blue Earth to St. Mary’s in Rochester.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth Police Department, Blue Earth Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
