The Albert Lea Police Department assisted in an AMBER Alert that led to the safe recovery of a missing 7 year old girl early Thursday.
Police say Brynlee Nelson was reported missing Wednesday afternoon after last being seen near Zimmerman in Sherburne County. An AMBER Alert was issued after authorities received a report of a suspicious vehicle possibly connected to her disappearance.
Around 12:34am Thursday, Albert Lea Police located a vehicle believed to be associated with the alert, traveling south on Interstate 35 and conducted a traffic stop. Officers confirmed Brynlee was inside the vehicle and safely recovered.
A 28 year old Maple Grove man, Joseph Andrew Bragg, was taken into custody. Brynlee was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea for medica evaluation and later reunited with her family.
Albert Lea Police were assisted by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance Service.
