The 2025 Blue Earth City archery hunt was conducted successfully and without incident according to a release from Archery Hunt Coordinator Tharen Haugh.
Overall, the hunt proceeded as planned, with no safety concerns, complaints or operational issues that negatively impacted the program.
In 2025, a reduced group of 16 hunters was utilized instead of the typical 20. This adjustment was intentional and served as a test to determine whether a smaller group would increase success rates and allow for easier rotation of hunters from lower performing locations. The reduced group size performed comparably to previous years and showed no negative impact on overall performance. The number of deer taken in 2025 was 15.
The continued success of the city archery hunt remains rooted in the experienced hunters who return year after year. Their professionalism, ethical hunting practices and familiarity with the program contribute significantly to its effectiveness and positive standing within the community.
