Minnesota’s First Congressional District race remains too close to call, with Democratic challenger Jake Johnson holding a razor thin lead over Republican Incumbent Brad Finstad.
With all precincts reporting Wednesday morning, unofficial results showed Johnson with 163,057 votes, compared to Finstad’s 162,734 – a difference of just 323 votes.
The race could be headed for a recount, with the margin falling within Minnesota’s threshold for a publicly funded recount if requested.
The closely watched contest drew approximately $10 million in outside spending.
The district stretches across southern Minnesota, including much of the state’s agricultural region.
Democrats have not held the seat since Tim Walz left Congress in 2018.
