Iowa voters heading to the polls on Tuesday’s General Election, with residents in Kossuth, Winnebago and Emmet Counties deciding federal, state and local races.
Statewide, voters will choose a governor and lieutenant governor, U.S. Senator, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Auditor, Treasurer and Secretary of Agriculture. Congressional and State Legislative seats will also be on the ballot, along with judicial retention questions.
Iowa voters will also consider a proposed constitutional amendment that would require a two thirds vote in both chambers of the Legislature to approve certain increases in state income taxes or create new state income taxes.
In Kossuth County, voters will decide a contested County Supervisor race in District One, along with other county offices, Soil and Water Conservation positions, Hospital Trustees and Agricultural Extension Council seats. Voters in the North Union Community School District, which serves portions of Kossuth and Emmet Counties, will also consider a bond referendum of up to $12 million. The proposal would fund school facility improvements, including a gymnasium and multipurpose room.
In Winnebago County, the ballot includes County offices, Soil and Water Conservation positions and Agricultural Extension Council seats.
In Emmet County, voters will decide County Supervisor, Treasurer and Recorder positions, along with Conservation and Agricultural Extension Council seats.
Polls across Iowa will be open until 8pm.
